Working hard on the Sobell orders, but have found time to finish off a couple of custom instruments:

A semi-acoustic with three Seymour-Duncan humbuckers. A very nice instrument even though the electrics were a pain to sort out!

Also finished an 'A' mandolin - this was actually started by one of my students and abandoned early on.

That was a busy year! We made the move at the end of 2021 and have been working hard to get the house straight and the new workshops up and running.  We are getting there.

Somehow we have managed to complete some instruments though and Stefan has taken some new orders, so things are going well.

Here is a picture of the famous Andy Irvine with his new Sobell-Keefe mandola that we built. (Learn more about Andy here: https://andyirvine.com)

Also - a couple of videos.  This is a  classical I finished last year, some very nice playing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwtMjprxu4g

Big changes are about to happen. I am in the process of moving to the North East, both for personal reasons and to be closer to Stefan Sobell to facilitate our planned collaboration.

We are working hard to finish as many instruments as possible before the move.

We will be continuing to take work on from the East Midlands area and I will be providing more details about this soon. In the short term we will probably be taking in less work as I get the new workshop ready, but by all means contact us if you have urgent requirements.

Just heard back from Mike Harding after taking delivery of his Sobell-style mandolin: "Enjoying it immensely and learning new tunes, so you can teach an old dog new tunes if not new tricks."

4 May 2021 - Collaboration with Stefan Sobell

I'm very pleased and proud to announce that Stefan Sobell has asked me to collaborate on the construction of any new cittern and bouzouki orders that he receives. It is a great endorsement for me to have earned the confidence of someone as well regarded as Stefan, a legend in British luthiery, and speaks of  the care and attention to detail that I put into every build and restoration. You can read the full announcement on Stefan's website here: https://www.sobellguitars.com/collaboration-with-colin-keefe/
